Ryan Day is a worship pastor, worship leader, singer/songwriter, recording artist, author and presenter. His heart is for worship and his passion is to encourage and inspire others to discover what it means to worship wholeheartedly in all areas of life.
Ryan started singing at a young age, taught himself to play the guitar and piano as a teenager, and has devoted himself to worship leading and songwriting as an adult. He recorded and released a 6-track EP of original worship songs in 2009 and in 2015 will launch his debut worship album titled The Sending. The album is the creative expression that has come out of a season of life through which Ryan has wrestled and sought to understand and express what it means to be Christian, to be people who are called to be both gathered and sent.
The message and purpose of this album will connect with a wide audience – both thematically and stylistically. His lyric writing and melodies are strong and memorable. The production quality on the record is extremely high, using a combination of both newcomers and veterans in the Christian music industry. From pop-rock to acoustic ballad, The Sending takes the listener on an emotional and theological journey of discovering through song what it means to be sent out as the people of God to love, serve and heal the world.
Ryan has led worship and performed in Australia at Easterfest, Blackstump Music Festival, Revive Conference and at many local churches and events over the past 15 years. He has been a guest lecturer on worship leadership at Morling Theological College and has presented workshops at churches and Christian conferences on topics such as Building Healthy Worship Teams, Wholehearted Worship and Courageous Worship Leading.
In 2014, Ryan completed a masters in Worship Studies and in 2015 he will release a book, called “The Evergreen Worship Leader,” that has been inspired by his studies.
Ryan has been married to Julie for nearly 10 years and they have two sons: Joshua and Caleb. They live in the beautiful Sutherland Shire of Sydney, Australia. There they attend Gymea Baptist Church, where Ryan is the Worship Ministry Co-ordinator.
